إِليكَaway with you وإلّاor else فاِدرِthen know منwhom أنتَyou جاهِلُهignorant of him
وَمَنand whom بسهامِwith the arrows of النائباتِcalamities تناضِلُهyou vie with him in archery
Away with you—or else learn whom you do not know,
and whom you duel with using the arrows of calamities.
بِنَفسيwith my life as ransom مَنthe one who لَوif مرّpassed بردُthe coolness of بنانهِhis fingers
عَلىover كبدٍa liver كانتwould be شِفاءًa cure أنامِلُهhis fingertips
My life be his ransom! If the coolness of his fingers passed
over a liver, his fingertips would be a cure.
وَمِنand from (likely وَمَن: and he who) هابَنيfeared me فيin كلّevery شيءٍthing وهبتهُI bestowed it
فَلاso not هوhe يُعطينيgives me ولاnor أَناI سائِلُهasking him
And he who feared me in all that I bestowed on him—
he neither gives to me, nor do I ask him.
