And by grace she is guarded within the divine decree.

Like the noble kings of the house of Husayn,

When they vied to build up her land.

Thus their rule within her stood secure,

While what lay around it was swept away, stopping short of it.

With the hidden, peerless jewel at its center:

Were he to summon the star, it would instantly become his retainer.

So they could neither come near him nor match his faith.

Made of light that has illumined his brow.

Whose shining achievements are made plain through him.

It had yielded only to sturdy arches.

Through it Tunis became a garden,

Green, with splendor and adornment to match her name.

She gained Jilliq's Barada, but not its ruin,

And the Nile's refreshing waters, but not its fever or its fish.

May God make her land flourish and protect it

Against every evil, however multiplied you reckon it.

And watch over it through a king true to his promise,

And the minister whom he chose as his intimate companion.

    فَليبن كلّ سامعٍ تَأمينَه

    This prayer has matched the chronicler in benefit;

So let every listener make his Amen heard.
