My two friends, arise: the mark of joy has returned.
My beloved, bestow your bounty, for our time has ripened
And the traces of the abode of fellowship's inspiration are renewed.
And the square of spiritual union has renewed its design

وَليدٌ بدارِ الملكِ يقدمُ جذمهُ
And a noble lord has lent strength within the house of the vizierate,
A chief has girded his loins in the ministry's house
A newborn whose lineage is ancient in the royal house.
A newborn in the king's abode goes forward in his swaddling

And Khayr al-Din came early with a son, Muhammad;
The best of faith hastened at the door of Ibn Muhammad
No disparaging reproach shields him from the evil eye.
So what fault can an eye find in him to blame him?

And for Khayr al-Din—how noble a father!—was made august
I stand in awe of the best of faith—I think him a father,
A most gracious boy; the vizier's daughter is his mother.
A most fragrant youth whose mother is the vizier's daughter

His son Muhammad is a helper to Khayr al-Din,
An aide to the best of faith, the son of Muhammad,
And his successor, advancing toward a splendor that occupies his thoughts.
And the past opposed him for graces that concerned him,

A crescent for whom the signs within hearts lit up with joy,
A crescent whose crescents of breasts swayed in trilling,
Appeared as the full moon of fasting reached its fullness at the zenith.
Appeared as the fast’s full moon rose to its zenith.

Ramadan auspiciously warded off affliction from him;
Ramadan turned aside from him in happiness—
May its hands never cease to envelop him in bounty.
So its hands never ceased in generosity enveloping him.

His arrival by night races the approach of spring,
Its coming racing the advance of spring,
As its calyx opened to reveal the blossoms of the southerly winds.
As its totality burst forth from the light of the south winds.

Its fresh bloom speaks to him as it welcomes him,
Its advent hails him, its greenery breathes
And breathes into him a spirit of growth that pervades him.
Into him the spirit of growth that fills him.

May he never be parted from God's care, a source of delight
So he never tires, led by God’s shepherding,
To his family, ever attaining the goal he seeks.
Made His lieutenant through a mandate completing him.

And may the caliph's support always come his way,
Still the Caliph’s bliss inclines toward him
In constant succession, with the vizier's favor completing it.
And the vizier’s favor persists, perfecting him.

Its lines contain no padding, all
Has its written form founded on the method of chronograms.
Founded on the path of history that traced his design.
