وَيباري سريعهنَّ حِراكا
What thing resembles the celestial spheres
What thing resembles the orbits
and rivals their swiftest in motion?
And competes with their swift motion?

بَ مسيرٍ وهيأةٍ واِشتباكا
It is of their kind in radiance, shape, and the ordering
It has from them light, form, and order
of motion and configuration, and in interlocking.
In course, configuration, and conjunction.

نِ وَيَقتَرنان فيها اِصطكاكا
Its two luminaries travel over the zodiac signs
We make it move easily on the constellations
and meet there in conjunction, touching.
And it joins with them in friction.

لَسِ في قطعهِ لدورٍ دِراكا
The slower one surpasses the starless sphere
So the slow builds upon the celestial sphere
in the speed with which it completes a revolution.
In its revolution no swiftness.

And the swift circles the ocean with twice
the number of its dark zodiac signs.
What its revolving mansions count.

They both traverse the orbit after sunset
and refuse to break away from the pole.
And from the pole refuse detachment,

If made to revolve by a turning device, whatever
With a director, if it revolves, then that
you want from it for their two revolutions, it shows you:
Which you want to see of their two rotations

Revolving or does the last suffice?
