أَتَطلُبُdo you seek رِزقَprovision اللَهِof God مِنfrom عِندِwith غَيرِهsomeone other than Him
أَتَطلُبُ رِزقَ اللَهِ مِن عِندِ غَيرِه
وَتُصبِحُand you become مِنfrom خَوفِfear of العَواقِبِthe consequences آمِناsafe
وَتُصبِحُ مِن خَوفِ العَواقِبِ آمِنا
Do you seek God's provision from someone other than Him,
Do you seek God's provision from other than Him
and feel safe from fear of the consequences?
And feel secure from the consequences in the morn?
وَتَرضىand you are content بِصَرّافٍwith a money changer وَإِنand even if كانَhe is مُشرِكاa polytheist
وَتَرضى بِصَرّافٍ وَإِن كانَ مُشرِكا
ضَميناًas a guarantor وَلاand not تَرضىyou are content بِرَبِّكَwith your Lord ضامِناas guarantor
ضَميناً وَلا تَرضى بِرَبِّكَ ضامِنا
And do you accept a money changer, even if he is a polytheist,
You accept a banker though he be a polytheist
as guarantor, yet not accept your Lord as guarantor?
As guarantor, yet do not accept your Lord as guarantor.
كَأَنَّكَas though you لَمdid not تَقنَعbecome satisfied بِماwith what فيin كِتابِهHis Book
كَأَنَّكَ لَم تَقنَع بِما في كِتابِه
فَأَصبَحتَso you have become مَدخولَflawed in اليَقينcertainty مُبايِناestranged
فَأَصبَحتَ مَدخولَ اليَقين مُبايِنا
As though you were not satisfied with what is in His Book,
It is as if you were not content with what is in His Book,
so you have become flawed in certainty and estranged.
So you have come to contradict certainty itself.
