لَولا مُفارَقَةُ الرِيَب

لَولا مُفارَقَةُ الرِيَب

ما كُنتَ مِمَّن يَحتَجِب

ما كُنتَ مِمَّن يَحتَجِب

Were it not for avoiding suspicion,

Were it not for parting from blame

you would not be among those who hide away;

I'd not be one who hides away

أَو لا فَعِيٌّ فيكَ أَو

أَو لا فَعِيٌّ فيكَ أَو

بُخلٌ عَلى أَهلِ الطَلَب

بُخلٌ عَلى أَهلِ الطَلَب

or else you are tongue-tied, or

Nor laziness in you, nor

stingy toward those who ask.

Stinginess towards seekers

فَاِكشِف لَنا وَجهَ العِتا

فَاِكشِف لَنا وَجهَ العِتا

بِ وَلا تُبالِ مَن عَتَب

بِ وَلا تُبالِ مَن عَتَب

So reveal to us the face of re-

So unveil for us the face of censure

proach, and heed not whoever reproaches.

And care not who might blame
