لاno بِرَّkindness أَعظَمُgreater مِنthan مُساعَدَةٍassistance
لا بِرَّ أَعظَمُ مِن مُساعَدَةٍ
فَاِشكُرso thank أَخاكَyour brother عَلىfor مُساعَدَتِهhis assistance
فَاِشكُر أَخاكَ عَلى مُساعَدَتِه
No kindness is greater than giving help.
No act of kindness is greater than helping others.
So thank your brother for his help.

وَإِذاand if هَفاhe errs فَأَقِلهُthen pardon him هَفوَتَهُhis lapse
وَإِذا هَفا فَأَقِلهُ هَفوَتَهُ
حَتّىuntil يَعودَhe returns أَخاًa brother كَعادَتِهas is his custom
حَتّى يَعودَ أَخاً كَعادَتِه
And if he errs, then pardon him his lapse,
And if he slips, overlook his mistake
Until he becomes a brother again, as before.
Until he returns a brother as was his custom.
فَالصَفحُfor forgiveness عَنof زَلَلِmissteps الصَديقِthe friend وَإِنand even if
فَالصَفحُ عَن زَلَلِ الصَديقِ وَإِن
أَعياكَit wearies you خَيرٌbetter مِنthan مُعاندَتِهopposing him
أَعياكَ خَيرٌ مِن مُعاندَتِه
For forgiving a friend's missteps, even if
For forgiving a friend's missteps, even if
it wearies you, is better than opposing him.
They trouble you, is better than opposing him.
