رَأَيتُ صَلاحَ المَرءِ يُصلِحُ أَهلَهُ

رَأَيتُ صَلاحَ المَرءِ يُصلِحُ أَهلَهُ

وَيُعديهِمُ داءُ الفَسادِ إِذا فَسَد

وَيُعديهِمُ داءُ الفَسادِ إِذا فَسَد

I have seen a man’s righteousness set his household right,

I have seen a man's righteousness set his family right;

And corruption’s sickness infect them should he become corrupt.

and the disease of corruption infects them when he becomes corrupt.

يُعَظَّم في الدُنيا بِفَضلِ صَلاحِهِ

يُعَظَّم في الدُنيا بِفَضلِ صَلاحِهِ

وَيُحفَظُ بَعدَ المَوتِ في الأَهلِ وَالوَلَد

وَيُحفَظُ بَعدَ المَوتِ في الأَهلِ وَالوَلَد

He is held in honor in this world through the merit of his righteousness,

He is esteemed in this world by virtue of his righteousness,

And after death is remembered among his family and children.

and after death he is honored through the care shown to his family and children.
