سَيِّدٌa lord طالَrose high وَماand there is no فيin
سَيِّدٌ طالَ وَما في
وَعدِهِhis promise الصادِقِtruthful طولُdelay
وَعدِهِ الصادِقِ طولُ
A lord who has risen high, yet there is no
delay in his truthful promise.
وَلَهُand he has فيin الجودِgenerosity وَالمَجand glory (first part)
وَلَهُ في الجودِ وَالمَج
دِglory (completion) فُروعٌbranches وَأُصولُand roots
دِ فُروعٌ وَأُصولُ
He has, in generosity and glo-
ry, branches and roots.
سَئِمَتهُhave wearied of him البيضُthe gleaming swords وَالسُمand the brown spears (first part)
سَئِمَتهُ البيضُ وَالسُم
رُbrown spears (completion) وَمَلَّتهُand have tired of him الخُيولُthe horses
رُ وَمَلَّتهُ الخُيولُ
The gleaming swords have wearied of him, and the brown spea-
rs; and the horses have tired of him.
فَهوَso he لِلأَهوالِin the face of the terrors فيin الحَرthe war (first part)
فَهوَ لِلأَهوالِ في الحَر
بِwar (completion) إِذاwhen اِشتَدَّit grows fierce حَمولُa steadfast bearer
بِ إِذا اِشتَدَّ حَمولُ
So he, amid the terrors of wa-
r when it grows fierce, bears them steadfastly.
