Your life is numbered breaths, and whenever

a breath of it passes, you lose a part of yourself.

So you enter morning diminished, and evening with a like loss,

yet you have no understanding with which to sense the loss.

What keeps you alive kills you in every hour,

and a driver urges you onward, not meaning to jest with you.
