مازِلتُ أَغرَقُ في الإِساءةِ دائِباً

مازِلتُ أَغرَقُ في الإِساءةِ دائِباً

وَيَنالُني مِنك العَفوُ وَالغُفرانُ

وَيَنالُني مِنك العَفوُ وَالغُفرانُ

I have kept drowning in wrongdoing, unceasingly,

Still I keep offending constantly

And from you, pardon and forgiveness reach me.

And I receive forgiveness and pardon from you

تُولي الجَميلَ عَلى القَبيحِ وَإِنَّما

تُولي الجَميلَ عَلى القَبيحِ وَإِنَّما

يُرضيكَ مِنّي الزورُ وَالبُهتانُ

يُرضيكَ مِنّي الزورُ وَالبُهتانُ

You bestow kindness in return for wrongdoing, and it is only

You meet good with evil, yet

Falsehood and slander from me that please you.

Lies and slander from me appease you

فَكَأَنَّني بِالذَنبِ أَلتَمِسُ الرِضى

فَكَأَنَّني بِالذَنبِ أَلتَمِسُ الرِضى

إِذ لَم يَضِرني عِندَك العِصيانُ

إِذ لَم يَضِرني عِندَك العِصيانُ

So it is as though I seek your approval through sin,

So it's as though with sin I seek pleasure

Since disobedience has not harmed me in your sight.

Since with you disobedience does not harm me
