وَفَّقَmay grant success اللَهُGod عاقِلاًa wise man قَدَّرَbudgeted العَيlivelihood (first part of العيش)
وَفَّقَ اللَهُ عاقِلاً قَدَّرَ العَي
شَcompletion of العيش: livelihood فَرَأسُfor the foundation المَعيشَةِof livelihood التَقديرُcareful planning
شَ فَرَأسُ المَعيشَةِ التَقديرُ
May God grant success to a wise man who budgets his livelihood;
May God grant success to one who is wise and plans ahead
for careful planning is the foundation of livelihood.
The foundation of livelihood is foresight
رَدَّrestored فيto الوَجهِthe face ماءهُits water (dignity) وَاِرتَضىand accepted الصَبpatience (first part of الصبر)
رَدَّ في الوَجهِ ماءهُ وَاِرتَضى الصَب
رَcompletion of الصبر: patience قَريناًas a companion إِنَّindeed الكَريمَthe noble man صَبورُpatient
رَ قَريناً إِنَّ الكَريمَ صَبورُ
He restored the water to his face and accepted patience
Patience is the mate of nobility
as a companion; indeed, the noble man is patient.
It withholds the water of anger from one's face and fosters acceptance
