ولقدand indeed علمتُI have learned بأنthat رزقيmy sustenance يأتينيcomes to me
وسيانand alike فيهin it تحركيmy movement وسكونِand my stillness
And indeed, I have learned that my sustenance comes to me,
I knew that my sustenance would come to me
And in this, my movement and my stillness are alike.
Whether I move or stay still does not matter
وعلمتُand I have learned أنthat تحركيmy striving معalongside خالقيmy Creator

And I have learned that my striving alongside my Creator
And I knew that moving with my Creator
For sustenance is ignorance—and furthermore, madness.
Seeking sustenance is ignorance, even madness

And I asked my Lord to grant me success in what
I asked my Lord to help me do
Pleases Him from me; my hopes will not be disappointed.
What pleases Him, hopes will not be unfulfilled

And upon me His grace, not His justice, is manifest,
And on me appears His grace, not justice
And the beautiful art brings my arts to perfection.
And completes this beautiful art of arts
