بنيناwe built بجنبِbeside الروضةِal-Rawda (the garden) الآنَnow مسجدَاa mosque
بنينا بجنبِ الروضةِ الآنَ مسجدَا
لوجهfor the sake of إلهٍGod بالفضائلwith blessings مُنْعِمِbestowing favors
لوجه إلهٍ بالفضائل مُنْعِمِ
We have now built a mosque beside al-Rawda,
Beside the garden we have built a mosque,
for the sake of God, the bestower of blessings.
For the sake of a merciful God of virtues,
بنيناwe built بهthrough it نرجُوwe hope مِنfrom اللهGod رحمةًmercy
بنينا به نرجُو مِن الله رحمةً
وعفواًand pardon لناfor us والصفحَand forgiveness عنfor كلevery مأثمِsin
وعفواً لنا والصفحَ عن كل مأثمِ
We built it, hoping thereby for mercy from God,
In it we hope for God's mercy,
and pardon for us, and forgiveness for every sin.
And forgiveness for us and pardon for all sins,
وتاريخُهand its date فيin عامthe year ستٍّsix وعشرةٍand ten
وتاريخُه في عام ستٍّ وعشرةٍ
كذاlikewise مائةٌa hundred منfrom قبلِbefore ذلكthat ياO ابنَمِson
كذا مائةٌ من قبلِ ذلك يا ابنَمِ
And its date is in the year six and ten,
Its date is sixteen and ten,
with a hundred before that as well, O son.
Plus a hundred years before that, O my son!
تعاونَworked together أهلُthe people of الروضةِal-Rawda (the garden) الكلُّall منهمof them
تعاونَ أهلُ الروضةِ الكلُّ منهم
بنيانهits construction طوبىblessedness لهمfor them حُسْنexcellence مَغْنَمِreward
بنيانه طوبى لهم حُسْن مَغْنَمِ
The people of al-Rawda, every one of them, worked together
The people of the garden all cooperated,
in its construction—blessed are they; a splendid reward!
Blessed are they, good fortunate gain,
بدولةِunder the rule of سيفٍSayf نسلِscion of سلطانSultan سيفناour sword
بدولةِ سيفٍ نسلِ سلطان سيفنا
إمامِthe imam of الهدىguidance أهلa man of الندىgenerosity والتكرُّمِand magnanimity
إمامِ الهدى أهل الندى والتكرُّمِ
Under the rule of Sayf, scion of Sultan, our sword,
In the State of the Sword, the lineage of Sultan Saif,
the imam of guidance, a man of bounty and magnanimity,
The Imam of guidance, the people of glory and generosity,
وَذِىand possessor of روضةٍa garden فاقتْsurpassed علىover كلِّevery روضةgarden
وَذِى روضةٍ فاقتْ على كلِّ روضة
بنخلٍwith palms وأشجارٍand trees وزهرٍand blossoms متمّمِcompleting
بنخلٍ وأشجارٍ وزهرٍ متمّمِ
and owner of a garden that surpassed every garden,
And the one with a garden surpassing all gardens,
with palms and trees, and blossoms completing it.
With palm trees, trees and perfected beauty,
فهذاthis, then وصلىand may He bless اللّهُGod ماwhenever لاحَflashed بارقٌlightning
فهذا وصلى اللّهُ ما لاحَ بارقٌ
علىupon المصطفىthe Chosen One الهادِيthe Guide النبيthe Prophet المكرّمِthe honored
على المصطفى الهادِي النبي المكرّمِ
This, then; and may God send blessings, whenever lightning flashes,
So this is, may God pray on what dawned,
upon the Chosen One, the Guide, the honored Prophet.
Upon the Chosen One, the guiding Prophet, the Most Venerable.
