ترفعْ عن الفعلِ الذي يضعُ الفتى

ترفعْ عن الفعلِ الذي يضعُ الفتى

تعشْ سالماً من كل ذامِ مذمِّمِ

تعشْ سالماً من كل ذامِ مذمِّمِ

Rise above the deed that demeans a young man.

Rise above the act that debases a youth

You will live safe from every fault-finding critic.

Live in peace from every reproachful blamer

إذا كنتَ من قومٍ كرامٍ أعزةٍ

إذا كنتَ من قومٍ كرامٍ أعزةٍ

فكنْ مثلهم في كلِّ فِعْلٍ مكرمِ

فكنْ مثلهم في كلِّ فِعْلٍ مكرمِ

If you belong to a noble and dignified people,

If you are from a people noble and honored

Then be like them in every honorable deed.

Then be like them in every noble deed

أأحمد إنّي ناصحٌ لكَ مُشْفِقٌ

أأحمد إنّي ناصحٌ لكَ مُشْفِقٌ

ألا فاستمعْ قولَ الشفيقِ المُعَلّمِ

ألا فاستمعْ قولَ الشفيقِ المُعَلّمِ

O Ahmad, I am indeed your sincere and caring adviser.

Ahmad I am an adviser to you, compassionate

Take heed, then listen to the words of the caring teacher.
