I truly marvel at the people of our time:

they have not dealt fairly with their ailing companions.

People's intention in worship is this:

if they do not visit within three days, they stop.

And I say: even if it lasts a year, let not

the patient be shunned; rather, let him be visited, so he feels at ease.

And when someone's suffering among the people persists,

they cease visiting him and behave affectedly.

If you possess reason and forbearance, then follow

the truth I have spoken, and leave aside what they have compiled.

And leave shyness behind your back, and be steadfast

in visiting the sick, for you are the one who deals fairly.

And if you fall ill and a young man does not visit you, do not

find fault with him, and be as though you were uncomprehending.

And when the hand of calamities strikes him with sorrow,

visit him swiftly, with no affectation troubling you.
