ثلاثٌ إذا ما المرءُ في الدهر حازها

يعشْ في ذرَى العلياء والعّز والأمنِ

Three things—if a man attains them in life,

he will live on the heights of eminence, honor, and security:

عفافٌ وتقوى اللهِ في كلِّ حالةٍ

عفافٌ وتقوى اللهِ في كلِّ حالةٍ

وبذلُ جزيل لا يكدَّر بالمنِّ

وبذلُ جزيل لا يكدَّر بالمنِّ

chastity and fear of God in every circumstance,

and abundant giving untainted by reminders of favors.
