أنفقْspend منfrom المالِwealth ماwhat استطعتَyou can فذوfor one possessed of الthe
أنفقْ من المالِ ما استطعتَ فذو ال
إنفاقgiving يزدادُincreases رُتْبةًrank وسَعَهْand prosperity
إنفاق يزدادُ رُتْبةً وسَعَهْ
Spend as much wealth as you can, for he who
Spend from wealth what you are able
Gives grows in rank and prosperity.
For the spendthrift grows in station and breadth
فمنْso whoever أرادَdesires الخيراتِgood things فيin غدهhis tomorrow فليعطthen let him give
فمنْ أرادَ الخيراتِ في غده فليعط
أهلَpeople of الإفتارِpoverty ماwhat جَمَعَهْhe gathered it
أهلَ الإفتارِ ما جَمَعَهْ
So whoever desires good things for his tomorrow, let him give
Whoever desires goodness on the morrow, let him give
The needy what he has gathered.
To the destitute what he has amassed
وليتقand let him fear اللهGod ربَّهُhis Lord فهوfor He الخلاقُthe Creator
وليتق الله ربَّهُ فهو الخلاقُ
وليَعْتَبرand let him take heed بماof what سمعَهْhe heard it
وليَعْتَبر بما سمعَهْ
And let him fear God, his Lord, for He is the Creator,
And let him fear God, his Lord, for He is the Creator
And let him take heed of what he has heard.
And let him learn from what he has heard
كمثلlike والىgovernor of الإمامthe Imam سيدناour master
كمثل والى الإمام سيدنا
ذِىendowed with الفضلِvirtue والجودِand generosity والتقىand piety جُمعَهْJumʿah
ذِى الفضلِ والجودِ والتقى جُمعَهْ
Like the Imam's governor, our master,
Like the guardian, our Imam Sir Din
Jumʿah, endowed with virtue, generosity, and piety.
Of generosity, piety and goodness combined
لاnot تجدyou find المنعَrefusal فيin سجيتهhis nature
لا تجد المنعَ في سجيته
انظرْlook ترىyou will see أيwhich سائلpetitioner مَنَعْهhe refused him
انظرْ ترى أي سائل مَنَعْه
You will find no refusal in his nature.
You will not find stinginess in his nature
Look and see: which petitioner has he refused?
Look and see if any beggar he denied
قدindeed زادهgave him more اللهGod ثروةًwealth وغنىًand affluence
قد زاده الله ثروةً وغنىً
كماjust as علاrose above كلَّevery حاكمٍruler رَفَعَهْhe exalted him
كما علا كلَّ حاكمٍ رَفَعَهْ
God has indeed increased his wealth and affluence,
God has increased his wealth and riches
Just as He has exalted him above every ruler.
As He has raised every ruler He promoted
ولاand no فقيرٌpoor man تراهyou see him ذَاhaving عُسُرhardship
ولا فقيرٌ تراه ذَا عُسُر
يلقَاهُmeets him إلاunless كساهُhe clothed him أوor نفعهْhe helped him
يلقَاهُ إلا كساهُ أو نفعهْ
Nor does any poor man you see in hardship
No poor man you'll find in hardship
Meet him without receiving clothing or help from him.
Who meets him, except he clothes or aids him
