ياO هَرِماًHarim وَأَنتَand you أَهلُa man of عَدلِjustice
أَنbecause وَرَدَreached الأَحوَصُal-Ahwas ماءًwater قَبليbefore me
O Harim—and you are a man of justice—
because al-Ahwas reached a watering place before me,
لَيَذهَبَنَّwill surely go off أَهلُهُhis people بِأَهليwith my people
لاdo not تَجمَعَنever put together شَكلَهُمُtheir kind وَشَكليand my kind
his people will surely carry mine away.
Do not put their kind alongside mine,
وَنَسلَand the offspring of آبائِهِمُtheir fathers وَنَسليand my offspring
لَقَدindeed نَهَيتُI warned عَنagainst سَفاهِthe folly of الجَهلِignorance
nor their fathers’ offspring alongside my offspring.
I have indeed warned against the folly of ignorance,
حَتّىuntil اِنتَزىsprang up أَربَعَةٌfour فيin حَبلِa rope
فَاليَومَso today لاno مَقعَدَsitting بَعدَafter الوَصلِthe joining
until four sprang up, bound by one rope.
Today, then, there is no sitting back after the joining.
فارَقتُهُمI parted from them بِذيwith one possessing ضُروعٍudders حُفلِfull of milk

مُواثِمِtrampling الحَزنِrugged ground قَريعِmaster of السَهلِlevel ground
I parted from them with one whose udders brimmed with milk,
trampling rugged ground, master of the plain,
بِصائِبِwith a straight الصَدرِchest سَديدِsure الرِجلِfoot
يَمُدُّstretches out بِالذِراعِwith the foreleg يَومَon the day of المَعلِhaste
with a straight chest and sure of foot.
It stretches out its foreleg on the day of haste.
سَتَعلَمونَyou will learn مَنwho خِيارُthe finest of الطَبلِthe people

You will learn who are the finest among the people.
