O Amir, son of Malik, O uncle!
O Amir son of Malik, O uncle
You destroyed an uncle and kept an uncle alive.
You have destroyed an uncle and given life to an uncle

فَقَد تَكونُ واضِحاً خِضَمّا
If you have become worn and crumbling among us,
If you touch any of our manners seeking to mend them
Yet once you were radiant and lavishly generous,
You may become clearly outrageous

Clad in a full coat of mail, wearing a turban,
Wearing a cloak, veiled, obscure
Making the enemy's land your aim.
Taking the enemy's land as a sanctuary
