O Harim—and you are a man of justice—

because al-Ahwas reached a watering place before me,

his people will surely carry mine away.

Do not put their kind alongside mine,

nor their fathers’ offspring alongside my offspring.

I have indeed warned against the folly of ignorance,

until four sprang up, bound by one rope.

Today, then, there is no sitting back after the joining.

I parted from them with one whose udders brimmed with milk,

trampling rugged ground, master of the plain,

with a straight chest and sure of foot.

It stretches out its foreleg on the day of haste.

You will learn who are the finest among the people.
