أَنتَyou إِمامُleader الحَقِّthe truth لَسناwe are not نَمتَريwe doubt
أَنتَ إِمامُ الحَقِّ لَسنا نَمتَري
أَنتَyou الَّذيthe one who نَرضىwe are pleased بِهِwith him وَنرتَجيand we hope
أَنتَ الَّذي نَرضى بِهِ وَنرتَجي
You are the imam of truth; we do not doubt.

You are the one we are content with and hope for
أَنتَyou اِبنُson خيرِbest الناسِthe people مِنfrom بَعدafter النبيthe Prophet
أَنتَ اِبنُ خيرِ الناسِ مِن بَعد النبي
ياO اِبنَson عَليَّAli سِرgo forth وَمَنand who مِثلُlike عَليAli
يا اِبنَ عَليَّ سِر وَمَن مِثلُ عَلي
You are the son of the best of people after the Prophet.
You are the son of the best of people after the Prophet
O son of Ali, go forth—and who is like Ali?
O son of Ali, you are a secret and who is like Ali
حَتىuntil تَحلَّyou alight أَرضَland كَلَبٍKalb وَبليand Bali
حَتى تَحلَّ أَرضَ كَلَبٍ وَبلي
ماnot مِتُI died ياO مَهديُّMahdi ياO اِبنَson المُهتَديthe rightly guided one
ما مِتُ يا مَهديُّ يا اِبنَ المُهتَدي
Until you alight in the land of Kalb and Bali.
Until you settle the land of Kalb and worn out
I have not died, O Mahdi, O son of the rightly guided one.
You did not die, O Mahdi, O son of the rightly guided one
أَنتَyou الَّذيthe one who نَرضىwe are pleased بِهِwith him وَنرتَجيand we hope
أَنتَ الَّذي نَرضى بِهِ وَنرتَجي
أَنتَyou اِبنُson خيرِbest الناسِthe people مِنfrom بَعدafter النبيthe Prophet
أَنتَ اِبنُ خيرِ الناسِ مِن بَعد النبي
You are the one we are pleased with and in whom we place our hope.

سِرgo forth بناwith us مُصاحِباًas a companion لاdo not تَنثَنيturn back
سِر بنا مُصاحِباً لا تَنثَني
حَتىuntil نُحاذيwe come alongside أَرضَland كَلَبٍKalb وَبلىand Bali
حَتى نُحاذي أَرضَ كَلَبٍ وَبلى
Go forth with us as a companion; do not turn back.
Be with us as a companion, do not waver
Until we come alongside the land of Kalb and Bali.
Until we reach the land of Kalb and worn out
ثَمتَthere أَقبلcome forward جارُكَyour protector اللهGod العليthe Most High
ثَمتَ أَقبل جارُكَ الله العلي
بينmake clear لَناto us وَاِنصَحand counsel لَناto us ياO اِبنson الوصيthe designated successor
بين لَنا وَاِنصَح لَنا يا اِبن الوصي
There, come forward; may God Most High be your protector.
Then your neighbor, the Most High God, will come
Explain to us and counsel us, O son of the designated successor.
Explain to us and advise us, O son of the successor
بَيِّنmake clear لَناto us مِنfrom دينِناour religion ماwhat نَبتَغيwe seek
بَيِّن لَنا مِن دينِنا ما نَبتَغي
Make clear to us what we seek in our religion.
Clarify for us from our religion what we seek
