Woe to you from the eyes of Khubayb and Thabit,

    And Hamza, resembling twin kites.

    بِلَ العائِذُ المَظلومُ في سِجنِ عارِمِ

    You tell whomever you meet that you seek refuge;

Rather, the wronged seeker of refuge is in the prison of Arim.

And whoever sees this elder at al-Khayf in Mina—

From among the people—knows that he is no wrongdoer:

The chosen Prophet's appointed successor and his cousin,

And a breaker of shackles and a payer of debts.

He refuses, so he does not trade guidance for error,

Nor does he fear anyone's reproach in God's cause.

And we, praise be to God, recite His Book,

Dwelling at this Khayf, the Khayf of sacred precincts,

Where the doves are safe from fright and at rest,

And where the enemy is like a peaceable friend.

For worldly wealth will not endure for its owners,

Nor is the severity of affliction a lasting blow.

So do not be dismayed by hardship; surely after it come

Deliverances that sweep away mighty calamities.
