يخدِنthey stride swiftly بناwith us عَرْضthe breadth الفلاةِthe desert وطولَهاand its length
يخدِن بنا عَرْض الفلاةِ وطولَها
كماas سارعنthey raced يُمنىthe right hand يديهof his two hands المُنَحِّبُthe wagerer
كما سارعن يُمنى يديه المُنَحِّبُ
They carry us swiftly across the desert’s breadth and length,
The wilderness' breadth and length mislead us,
As they race the wagerer’s right hand.
As his crooked right hand hurried us along.
