فأنتso you are الندىgenerosity, literally dew فيماin whatever ينوبُكbefalls you والسدىand bounty
فأنت الندى فيما ينوبُك والسدى
إذاwhen الخَوْدthe fair young woman عدتreckoned عقبةَa return-gift of broth القدرِthe cooking pot مالَهاher wealth
إذا الخَوْد عدت عقبةَ القدرِ مالَها
So you are dew and bounty in whatever befalls you,
You are the fresh rain in times of distress, and emptiness
when the fair young woman counts the broth received for lending her pot as her wealth.
When fate becomes an insurmountable obstacle in its course
