أو الناطقات الصادقات إذا غدت

Or the truthful speakers, when they set out in the morning
When eloquent women turned into
with waterskins no leather-stitcher has cut.
A brook, the household pet did not make them run dry.
جعلنthey made لهنfor them الخمسthe five-day watering interval للعيسfor the pale camels روحةan evening’s journey
جعلن لهن الخمس للعيس روحة
سباسبهاits open wastelands مفضٍleading إليهنtoward them سبسبُan open plain
سباسبها مفضٍ إليهن سبسبُ
They made the pale camels’ five-day watering journey to them an evening’s march;
They reserved a fifth for Jesus - a spirit
among its wastes, an open plain leads toward them.
Whose outpouring streams gently flowed to them.
فأبنso they returned قصارshort الظمءthe interval between drinks لمdid not يسترثنهاhold them back
فأبن قصار الظمء لم يسترثنها
بماthrough what فيهin it منof ريquenching الصواديthe thirsty ones التحببُfondness
بما فيه من ري الصوادي التحببُ
So they returned with short intervals of thirst, not held back
So the short supply of water did not make them lose hope
by the fondness inspired by its quenching of the thirsty.
With the irrigation it brought to the beloved valleys.
