Mistresses of houses dwelt beside their husbands;
They neighbor female couplets in their homes
Among them, those with feminine names are busily at work.

People know not a husband from his wife
And where among them are the aged and the young?
Where is the elder of them and the young?

Nor do they yearn for a neighbor, even if they depart
She pines not for a neighbor though wronged

Called two together or one alone
And if there are three, the dispute grows.
If three, discord increases
