رأيتكم من مالك وادعائه

كرالمة الأوتاد من عدم النسلِ

كرالمة الأوتاد من عدم النسلِ

I saw you, in relation to Mālik and your claim of descent from him,

I saw you all from Malik and his pretense

Like [a she-camel mothering] tent pegs for want of offspring.

Like the humming of strings from lack of progeny

وحظك من قحطان إن كنت منهم

وحظك من قحطان إن كنت منهم

ومن مالك حظ البغي من الحملِ

ومن مالك حظ البغي من الحملِ

And your share in Qaḥṭān, if you are of them,

And your fortune from Qahtan, if you are of them

And in Mālik, is a prostitute’s share in pregnancy.

And from Malik the share of the seeker from the flock
