وأنتAnd you ربيعthe spring الناسof the people وابنُand the son of ربيعهمtheir spring
وأنت ربيع الناس وابنُ ربيعهم
إذاwhen لُقِّبتare dubbed فيهاtherein السنونthe years اللواحساthe lickers (ravaging years)
إذا لُقِّبت فيها السنون اللواحسا
And you are the people's spring, and the son of their spring,
You are the springtime of men and the son of their springtime
when the years therein are dubbed 'the Lickers.'
