وكناand we were قديماًof old رواياbearers of blood-money burdens المئينthe hundreds (of camels)
وكنا قديماً روايا المئين
بناin us يثقputs his trust الجارمُthe offender المبسِلُthe one who has imperiled himself
بنا يثق الجارمُ المبسِلُ
And of old we shouldered blood-money debts of hundreds of camels;
Once we were storytellers of hundreds
In us the offender who has imperiled himself puts his trust.
The sinful neighbor would confide in us
