وأهدى إليها من ذواتِ حفيرة

وأهدى إليها من ذواتِ حفيرة

بلا حظوة منها ولا مصفَحٍ جَبِلْ

بلا حظوة منها ولا مصفَحٍ جَبِلْ

And surer in reaching her than the bows of Ḥafīra,

And he gave her gifts from his treasury

Without a small arrow from them or a broad, blunt sword.

Without favor or ornamented coat of mail
