رأيت الغواني وحشا نفوراً

رأيت الغواني وحشا نفوراً

إذا ما الغواني رأين القتيرا

إذا ما الغواني رأين القتيرا

I found the fair women to be skittish wild creatures,

I saw the girls averse and shy

whenever the fair women saw gray hair.

When the girls would see a man of small wealth

يسبحن إن جئت حتى أقوم

يسبحن إن جئت حتى أقوم

ويحمدن إن قمت حمداً كثيراً

ويحمدن إن قمت حمداً كثيراً

They glorify God if I come, until I rise,

They glorify, should I come, until I leave

and praise Him profusely if I rise.

And praise, should I leave, copious praise
