When passion roared in my chest and blazed,
I thought my ribs had caught sparks.
I thought my ribs were hung with sparks.

So I returned to the cooling tear of my anguish
easing pains and quenching a fire.
To lessen pains and quench fires.

A hurt child is dealt with, and I knew.

So that confirmed love had united them in secret.
