كلما أبصره القلبُ يذوب
She wore a black necklace around her neck.
Black beads around the neck are strung
Whenever the heart sees it, it melts.
Whenever seen by hearts they're stung
إنماnothing but السِلكthe thread هوىًpassion متصلٌunbroken
إنما السِلك هوىً متصلٌ
ولآليand the pearls العِقدِthe necklace حباتُcores قلوبhearts
ولآلي العِقدِ حباتُ قلوب
The thread is nothing but unbroken passion,
The thread is but continuous desire
And the necklace’s pearls are the cores of hearts.
And beads are made of hearts entire
