I hated you dancing, for it is
I hated you, o dancer, when

Another embraced your waist instead of me, and I knew

And you glide between his hands to
You glided between his hands
mellow singing, playfully, and he glides.
On the soft melody of songs, playing, gliding,
وتنتهبانand you both plunder معاًtogether فيin النعيمbliss
لذيذَsweet delight المنىwishes تجريانyou both race وتجريand they race
And together in bliss you both plunder
And together you stole in bliss
the sweetness of wishes; you both race, and they race.
The sweet wishes, flowing, flowing,
وتنفلتانand you both break free لهاtoward them مَرِحَينِboth merry
وتجتمعانand you both come together بكفٍّwith a palm وصدرand a chest
And you both break free toward them, merry,
And you both escaped, delighted,
and come together with palm and chest.
Meeting hand to hand and chest to chest.

Then you surrender to him with a soul
You surrendered to him with a soul
rapturous, with playfulness and lightness of thought.
Of delight, amusement and lightheadedness,
وتُعكسُand are reflected منكِfrom you عليهonto him عواطفُfeelings

And from you onto him are reflected the feelings
And from you emotions of your heart
of your heart, and they are the first gleams of my dawn.
Were reflected on him, like the dawn,
ونمَّand betrayed عليكَagainst you احمرارُreddening الخدودthe cheeks
وماand what تحتويهcontains it ابتسامةُa smile ثغرa mouth
And the blush of your cheeks betrayed you,
And the redness of shyness slept on you
and so did what a smile upon your lips contains.
With what your smile contains, lip,
فمُتِّعَso was granted enjoyment غيريsomeone other than me منكِfrom you بقدٍwith a figure

So another was granted delight in your figure,
So another enjoyed you, your statue, rhythm,
and forearm, breast, face, and hair.
Breast, face and hair,

And he has clasped within his arms the one
And he who I would sacrifice my heart, soul and life for
I would ransom with my heart, my soul, and my life.
Embraced whom I loved.

Whenever I contemplate that, I find myself
Seeing that, I lost my sanity and my matter became confused,
with my judgment led astray and my situation bewildering.
The resurrection of my soul was upon me,

And my soul's Judgment Day rises against me,
I lowered my head and emptied my patience,
and my head is shut tight and my patience drained.

And as long as my misery and humiliation please you,
Then stay a dancer and continue,
so remain a dancer, and carry on.

And do not think of me after that,
And be happy with another and accept my estrangement,
and be happy with another, and be content to forsake me.

My death, get up, dance on my grave.
my death, rise and dance upon my grave.
