I went out walking leisurely, without a thought,

In a forest of birds and boughs.

Then, near me in the shade, I spied a flower that had sprung up,

Like a blazing meteor that fell, racing after a devil.

And while I was talking to myself,

No one turned me from my resolve to pluck it.

It drew near to me gently, saying:

“Never frighten one at peace with an act of aggression.”

I took it from its root, with compassion and tender care,

To a garden of breezes and sweet basil.

I planted it anew in a verdant spot,

And here it is now, flourishing with sister shoots.
