فماso what لكis the matter with you طالَhas lasted long عهدُكِyour time بالهجوعِin slumber؟
I see the flowers brought back to life in spring;
I see the flowers blooming in spring
Why, then, has your slumber lasted so long?
So why has your absence lingered so long?

عليكover you لتنهضيso that you may rise عنقَthe neck of الشفيعthe intercessor
Awake, and see them bending
Awaken and behold them leaning toward you
Over you, their necks bowed like an intercessor's, that you may rise.
To raise you from your grave, O pleading one

Anemones have missed you for so long that
Anemones long missed you until
The anemones' tears have flowed with blood.
The anemone's tears flowed copiously
لئنeven if ضنَّwas stingy الغمامُthe clouds عليكِwith you إِنيindeed I
سقيتُI watered ثرىthe soil of ضريحكِyour grave منfrom دموعيmy tears
Even if the clouds have withheld their rain from you, I
If gloom has been stingy with you, I
have watered the soil of your grave with my tears.
Watered the soil of your grave with my tears
