Will a lover recover, or ever come to his senses?
Does a lover sober up, or come to his senses,
I shall surely recover—or do you think one consumed by longing can forget?
that I should sober up? Or do you think a yearning lover can forget?

Whoever is love-stricken by beautiful women

for him, forcing patience is unbefitting.

while the bough of my passion is tender and leafy?

For lightning flashes have gleamed from memory.

pouring out the tears I pour.

does a drowning man fear getting wet?
