فَليَعلَم الكَونُ أَنَّ الخَيرَ يَغمُرُهُ

فَليَعلَم الكَونُ أَنَّ الخَيرَ يَغمُرُهُ

لِأَنَّ مالِكُهُ بِاللُطفِ يَنظرُهُ

لِأَنَّ مالِكُهُ بِاللُطفِ يَنظرُهُ

So let the universe know that goodness envelops it,

Let the universe know that goodness floods it

because its Master looks upon it with kindness.

For its Owner looks after it with kindness

وَليُبشر الملكُ في تَأييدِ شَوكَتِهِ

وَليُبشر الملكُ في تَأييدِ شَوكَتِهِ

لِأَنَّ رَبَّ العُلى ما زالَ يَنصرُهُ

لِأَنَّ رَبَّ العُلى ما زالَ يَنصرُهُ

And let the realm rejoice in the strengthening of its might,

And let the exalted king rejoice in the support of his power

because the Lord of the heights continues to aid it.

For the Lord of the Highest continues to help him

فَقَد أَقامَ عَلى عَلياء سَدَّتِهِ

فَقَد أَقامَ عَلى عَلياء سَدَّتِهِ

عَبدَ العَزيز مَليكاً طابَ عُنصرَهُ

عَبدَ العَزيز مَليكاً طابَ عُنصرَهُ

For He has placed upon its lofty throne

Abdulaziz has established himself on the throne of his lofty ancestry

Abd al-Aziz, a sovereign of noble stock.

As a good king whose being prospers

جُلوسَهُ كانَ تاريخَ السَعادة في

جُلوسَهُ كانَ تاريخَ السَعادة في

الدُنيا وَعَصراً إِلى الإِقبال يَنشُرُهُ

الدُنيا وَعَصراً إِلى الإِقبال يَنشُرُهُ

His accession marked the beginning of happiness in

His ascension was the date of happiness in

the world, and an age he unfolds toward prosperity.

The world, and an era of rising fortune

فَغَرَدَت السُنُ العَلياءِ صادِحَةً

فَغَرَدَت السُنُ العَلياءِ صادِحَةً

بِمَدحِهِ وَشُعوب الأَرضِ تَشكُرُهُ

بِمَدحِهِ وَشُعوب الأَرضِ تَشكُرُهُ

So the tongues of heaven trilled aloud

The high years sang joyfully

in his praise, and the peoples of the earth thank him.

Praising him, and the people of earth thank him

هَذا هُوَ المَلِكُ المحيي العِبادَ بِما

هَذا هُوَ المَلِكُ المحيي العِبادَ بِما

قَد جادَ يَنظُمُ مِن فَضلٍ وَيَنثُرُهُ

قَد جادَ يَنظُمُ مِن فَضلٍ وَيَنثُرُهُ

This is the king who gives life to the people with what

This is the king who enlivens the servants with his

he has generously bestowed, stringing bounty together and scattering it.

Generosity, which he composes and distributes

شَمسُ الوجودِ مَفيضُ الجودِ منهلَهُ

شَمسُ الوجودِ مَفيضُ الجودِ منهلَهُ

بَدرُ الهِدايَةِ بَحرُ العَدلِ نَيّرهُ

بَدرُ الهِدايَةِ بَحرُ العَدلِ نَيّرهُ

Sun of existence—his fountain pours forth generosity;

The sun of existence, the sea of generosity from which he draws

full moon of guidance—his light is a sea of justice;

The full moon of guidance, the ocean of justice which illuminates it

تاجَ الخِلافَةِ نور الفهم قوَّتهُ

تاجَ الخِلافَةِ نور الفهم قوَّتهُ

جسمُ اللطَافَةِ روحُ الحلم جَوهَرَهُ

جسمُ اللطَافَةِ روحُ الحلم جَوهَرَهُ

crown of the caliphate—his strength is the light of understanding;

The crown of the caliphate, the light of insight his strength

embodiment of grace—his essence is the spirit of forbearance.

The essence of subtlety, the soul of wisdom his substance

طَوالِعُ النَصرِ في أَوجاهِ عَسكَرِهِ

طَوالِعُ النَصرِ في أَوجاهِ عَسكَرِهِ

كَأَنَّما أَنجُمُ الإِسعادِ عَسكَرَهُ

كَأَنَّما أَنجُمُ الإِسعادِ عَسكَرَهُ

The omens of victory are in the faces of his army,

The risings of victory in the peaks of his troops

as though the stars of good fortune were his army.

Are like stars of prosperity camped

ما زالَ يَعلي مَنار المُلكِ في هممٍ

ما زالَ يَعلي مَنار المُلكِ في هممٍ

عَنها يَقصّرُ كَسراهُ وَقَيصَرَهُ

عَنها يَقصّرُ كَسراهُ وَقَيصَرَهُ

He keeps raising the beacon of the realm with aspirations

He continues to raise the minaret of kingship with determination

beyond the reach of its Khosrow and its Caesar.

Beside which the endeavors of Caesar and Khosrow fail

وَالآن أَنعشَ سوريّا مؤَلَّفةً

وَالآن أَنعشَ سوريّا مؤَلَّفةً

وِلايَةً بِنِظامٍ فاحَ عَنبَرَهُ

وِلايَةً بِنِظامٍ فاحَ عَنبَرَهُ

And now he has revived Syria, united

And now he has unified Syria

as a province under an order whose ambergris gives off fragrance.

As a province with a system whose fragrance has spread

فَعَبدت لإِزديادِ السَعدِ ذاكِرَةً

فَعَبدت لإِزديادِ السَعدِ ذاكِرَةً

يَومَ الجُلوسِ الَّذي قَد راقَ مَنظَرَهُ

يَومَ الجُلوسِ الَّذي قَد راقَ مَنظَرَهُ

So she offered worship for greater good fortune, remembering

It worshipped, recalling the day of ascension

the day of accession, whose spectacle has brought delight.

Whose spectacle had pleased it

فكانَ خامسَ عيدٍ مِن خِلافَتِهِ لَها

فكانَ خامسَ عيدٍ مِن خِلافَتِهِ لَها

وَأَوَّلَ عيدٍ طافَ كَوثَرَهُ

وَأَوَّلَ عيدٍ طافَ كَوثَرَهُ

Thus it was for her the fifth festival of his caliphate,

It was the fifth anniversary of his caliphate

and the first festival whose Kawthar flowed around.

And the first anniversary which overflowed its abundance

وَكُلُّ يَومٍ لَنا عيدٌ بِدَولَتِهِ

وَكُلُّ يَومٍ لَنا عيدٌ بِدَولَتِهِ

عَلى البَشائرِ وَالأَفراحِ نَشهرهُ

عَلى البَشائرِ وَالأَفراحِ نَشهرهُ

And every day is a festival for us under his rule;

And each day for us is a holiday in his state

we proclaim it amid glad tidings and rejoicing.

As we announce good news and joys

وَقَد تَميَّزَ هَذا اليَومُ أَرَّخهُ

وَقَد تَميَّزَ هَذا اليَومُ أَرَّخهُ

بِمَجدِ عيدِ جُلوسٍ عادَ نَذكُرُهُ

بِمَجدِ عيدِ جُلوسٍ عادَ نَذكُرُهُ

And this day has stood apart; record its date:

And this day has been distinguished, we date it

with the glory of an accession feast that has returned for us to recall.

With the glory of the anniversary of ascension, which we commemorate
