تَصدَّر في العَليا حسينُ مُشيراً

تَصدَّر في العَليا حسينُ مُشيراً

فَقُم وَاُخبر الدُنيا بِذاكَ بَشيرا

فَقُم وَاُخبر الدُنيا بِذاكَ بَشيرا

Husayn took the foremost place in the highest ranks as a counsellor.

Hussain took the lead at the top, signaling,

So rise and tell the world of that, bearing glad tidings.

So get up and tell the world about that good news.

وَقُل لا تَثير المَجد يَهنيكَ كَوكَبٌ

وَقُل لا تَثير المَجد يَهنيكَ كَوكَبٌ

بِأَفضالِهِ الغَراءِ ظلَّ مُنيرا

بِأَفضالِهِ الغَراءِ ظلَّ مُنيرا

And say: do not stir up glory; a star congratulates you,

And say, don't let glory make you complacent like a planet,

Having remained radiant through its splendid favors.

With his outstanding merits overshadowing the light.

حَكيمٌ لِراحِ الفَهم راحَ بِحَزمِهِ

حَكيمٌ لِراحِ الفَهم راحَ بِحَزمِهِ

يَطوف بِأَقداح الرَشادِ مُديرا

يَطوف بِأَقداح الرَشادِ مُديرا

A sage, he went forth with his resolve for the wine of understanding,

A wise one for the comfort of understanding went decisively

Circling with goblets of right guidance, passing them round.

Circling with cups of guidance filled.

سَرائِرنا سرَّت بِما نالَ مِن نَدى

سَرائِرنا سرَّت بِما نالَ مِن نَدى

سَرير الهُدى يَهدي العِبادَ سُرورا

سَرير الهُدى يَهدي العِبادَ سُرورا

Our inner selves were gladdened by the bounty he received from

Our secrets were delighted with what he got from the dew

The throne of guidance, which leads humankind to joy.

Of the throne of guidance that guides the worshipers to bliss.

رَأَهُ المَليك الشاه روحا إِلى الذَكا

رَأَهُ المَليك الشاه روحا إِلى الذَكا

وَلِلمَجدِ جِسماً فَاِصطَفاهُ سَفيرا

وَلِلمَجدِ جِسماً فَاِصطَفاهُ سَفيرا

The sovereign Shah saw him as a soul drawn toward keen intelligence,

The king saw him as a soul inclined to remembrance,

And a body for glory, so he chose him as an ambassador.

And for glory a body, so he chose him as an emissary.

وَلِلدَولة الغَرا مُشيراً أَقامَهُ

وَلِلدَولة الغَرا مُشيراً أَقامَهُ

فَقامَ عَلى هام الأَنام نَذيرا

فَقامَ عَلى هام الأَنام نَذيرا

And he appointed him counsellor to the illustrious state,

And for the magnificent state as an advisor he appointed him,

So he stood above the heads of humankind as a warner.

So he stood above the wishes of the people as a warner.

هُنالِكَ ناداهُ الخَليلُ مُؤرِخاً

هُنالِكَ ناداهُ الخَليلُ مُؤرِخاً

لِدَولَتِهِ وافى الحسينُ مُشيرا

لِدَولَتِهِ وافى الحسينُ مُشيرا

Then Khalil called to him, recording the date:

There the Khaleel called him, chronicling

To his state, Husayn arrived as a counsellor.

His state, Hussain fulfilled the advisor.
