نَجَاتُكَyour deliverance سَرَّتْgladdened قَلْبَthe heart of كُلِّevery مُعَظَّمٍrevered person
نَجَاتُكَ سَرَّتْ قَلْبَ كُلِّ مُعَظَّمٍ
لِشَأْنِfor the stature of الهُدىguidance فِيin الشَّمْسِthe sun وَالجُوْدُand bounty فِيin الغَيْثِthe rain
لِشَأْنِ الهُدى فِي الشَّمْسِ وَالجُوْدُ فِي الغَيْثِ
Your deliverance gladdened the heart of every revered person,
Your deliverance brought joy to each honored heart
For the stature of guidance in the sun—and bounty in the rain.
For the stature of guidance is in the sun, and generosity is in the rain
وَمَاand not كَانَwas إِلاَّexcept الدَّهْرُTime مِنْfrom حَيْثُwhere لاَnot يَرَىhe sees
وَمَا كَانَ إِلاَّ الدَّهْرُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَرَى
لِيَحْدُثَso that it might occur ذَاكَthat الجِرْحُthe wound فِيon جَبْهَةِthe brow of اللَّيْثِthe lion
لِيَحْدُثَ ذَاكَ الجِرْحُ فِي جَبْهَةِ اللَّيْثِ
And it was Time alone, from beyond sight,
And it was only fate beyond perception
That made that wound appear upon the lion’s brow.
That caused that wound on the brow of the lion
