هَذِهِthis تُحْفَةُgift الرِّيَاضِthe gardens إِلىto مَنْthe one whose
هَذِهِ تُحْفَةُ الرِّيَاضِ إِلى مَنْ
فَاحَspread fragrantly فِيin الشَّرْقِthe East طِيبُهَاher fragrance وَتَأرَّجْand wafted sweetly
فَاحَ فِي الشَّرْقِ طِيبُهَا وَتَأرَّجْ
This is the gardens’ gift to her whose
This is the gift of Riyadh to whom
fragrance has spread through the East and wafted sweetly.

هِيَshe بَيْنَamong الْحِسَانِbeautiful women زَهْرَةُa flower أُنْسٍdelight
هِيَ بَيْنَ الْحِسَانِ زَهْرَةُ أُنْسٍ
حُسْنُهَاher beauty بِالْحَيَاءِby modesty مِنْهَاfrom her مُسَيَّجْfenced about
حُسْنُهَا بِالْحَيَاءِ مِنْهَا مُسَيَّجْ
She is, among beautiful women, a flower of delight;
It is amidst beauty a flower of companionship
her beauty is fenced about by her own modesty.
Its beauty is veiled in shyness like violets
وَعَجِيبٌand wondrous جَمْعُthe uniting المُهَيْمِنِthe Guardian فِيهَاin her
وَعَجِيبٌ جَمْعُ المُهَيْمِنِ فِيهَا
عِزَّةَdignity الوَرْدِthe rose وَاتِّضَاعَand humility الْبَنَفْسَجْthe violet
عِزَّةَ الوَرْدِ وَاتِّضَاعَ الْبَنَفْسَجْ
And wondrous is how the Guardian unites in her
And wondrous is the union in it
the rose’s dignity and the violet’s humility.
