Thus Egypt has cause for pride over other peoples in
So Egypt prides itself over nations in
offering that ideal model.

ياO منyou who أعادrevived اليومtoday ذكرىthe memory فضلهhis merit
يا من أعاد اليوم ذكرى فضله
ونضاand removed عنfrom الحقthe truth الحجابthe veil المسبلاhanging down
ونضا عن الحق الحجاب المسبلا
O you who today revived the memory of his merit,
O you who revived today the memory of its grace
and drew aside the veil draped over the truth:
And lifted from the truth the trailing veil
للدينfor religion والوطنand the homeland اغتباطjoy بالذيin what
للدين والوطن اغتباط بالذي
جدتyou bestowed generously منof مجدglory تحيفهhad worn it away البلىdecay
جدت من مجد تحيفه البلى
Religion and the homeland rejoice in what
For religion and nation there is joy in what
you have bestowed of glory that decay had worn away.
Its glory, worn by time, has found of new glory
