    Our lord the prince's gracious visit has raised

    Our standing as high as fate has willed.

    So if crafted verse cannot offer him due thanks,

    Then let sweet basil lend its aid, strewn about.

    And let the decorations tell of our joys,

    And let the flowers speak of our hearts.

    And if the gleam upon our brows should fade,

    Then smile, so the lights may make it whole.

    أَبَداً لهُ فِي بَيْتِنا تَذْكارُ

    My lord, this is an immortal day of joy;

    Its memory will remain forever in our home.

    It is an honor you graciously granted us

    Before, and its renewal has increased its grandeur.

    In East or West, if you grace with your presence

    A house of ours—there we gather, and there is our home.

    إِن الصغَارَ تَزُورُهُمْ لَكِبَارُ

    O son of kings, you have indeed raised our standing;

    Indeed, the lowly whom you visit are truly great.

    Your bounty has remained abundant, as attested

    By Egypt, and the cities affirmed her words.

    So long live exalted Abbas and his brother,

    And long live Egypt and her virtuous people!
