O you whose palace is lofty,

    and whose standing is exalted,

    yours are charms and adornments,

and dearest among them is noble character.

You did not shrink from the hardship of travel,

though your life was comfortable and pleasant.

So you made pilgrimage to God's House, and

the one nearest to Him is the God-fearing.

An eye of providence watches over you,

    not lances or stout spears.

    And beneficence flows from you,

so the thirsty valley is quenched by it.

God is pleased with you, O pride

of beautiful women—and so is the Prophet.
