يَا أَمِيراً بِهِ خَبِرْتُ سُمُوّاً
بِالسَّجَايَاthrough virtues يَعِزُّis rare فِيamong الاقْيَالِprinces
بِالسَّجَايَا يَعِزُّ فِي الاقْيَالِ
O prince, in whom I have known loftiness
O prince, in whom I have known excellence
of character rare among princes.
Through chains that bring honor in generations,
أَنْتَyou تُعْطِيgive حَقِيقَةَthe reality العَيْشِof life مَعْنىًa meaning
أَنْتَ تُعْطِي حَقِيقَةَ العَيْشِ مَعْنىً
قَصُرَتْfell short دُونَهُof it مَعَانِيthe meanings الخَيَالِof imagination
قَصُرَتْ دُونَهُ مَعَانِي الخَيَالِ
You give the reality of life a meaning
You give life's truth real meaning,
that imagination’s meanings have fallen short of.
Beyond the grasp of imagination's concepts,
هَذِهِthis صُورَتِيmy portrait أَتَرْجُوdoes it hope for? قُبُولاًacceptance
هَذِهِ صُورَتِي أَتَرْجُو قُبُولاً
وَهْيَand it تُهْدَىis offered بِالحُبِّwith love وَالإِجْلاَلِand reverence
وَهْيَ تُهْدَى بِالحُبِّ وَالإِجْلاَلِ
