A duty you owe to every companion of misery.

To grow as tender as the tears of the poor.

So it gained, with you, its name interceding for it,

An orphan's lot, and won shelter.

Whatever grows costly does so for a wise purpose

That has revealed the diamond's costliness among things.

In its firmness and radiance, it is a mirror of what

Lies within you of steadfast loyalty and intelligence.
