Ninette, your fortune in life is beautiful.
Your fortune in life is beautiful,
So rejoice, and let Jamil rejoice.
So rejoice and let the beautiful rejoice,
وَتَكَاثَرَاًand abound, both of you نُعماًblessings فَفِيماfor in what نَشْتَهِيwe wish
لَكُماfor you both كَثيرُmuch الطَّيِّبَاتِgood things قَلِيلُlittle
And abound in blessings, for compared with what we wish
And in our desire for abundant bounty,
for you both, a wealth of good things is little.
There is plenty of goodness and little evil.
وَقْرُburden الحَيَاةِlife بِالاشْتِرَاكِthrough sharing مَخَفَّفٌlightened
وَبِالانْفِرَادِand in solitude بَظَلَّremains وَهْوَwhile it is ثَقِيلُheavy
Life's burden is lightened by sharing,
The burden of life shared
but when borne alone, it remains heavy.
Is lightened, but alone it is heavy and gloomy.

How fine the marriage, how lovely in youth's bloom:
How excellent is the Quran and love in the prime of youth,
two joined together—a wife and a husband.
Two harmonious friends.

A blessed couple upon whom
a well-matched pair; may the wedding crown bring them joy.
Goodness has been bestowed. May the wreath crown their union.

This bride has been granted by her Lord
Distinction - through it she is perfected.
a grace whose completion comes from her, through her.
She is like the rays in the rising of her star,

She is like rays whose star is far away,
And she has access to all hearts.
and she has a path to every heart.

As for Jamil, he is what greatness seeks:
Refined, brilliant, noble.
tactful, self-made, resolute, and noble.
In glory, his ancestors shone before him,
فِيin المَجْدِglory أَثَلَlaid foundations مُنْجِبُوهُhis forebears قَبْلَهُbefore him

His forebears laid firm foundations in glory before him,
And the future glorifies them equally.
and on the morrow he shall lay foundations as they did.
He eschews the insignificant ambitions

He leaves lesser aims aside, holding himself above them,
Or seeks only the lofty goals.
or pursues a goal when it is lofty.
