    Indeed France—she who has taken

Share after share in every glory—

Has bestowed on Egypt every noble achievement

That, with its marvels, captivates the man of sound judgment.

All things new and all things ancient

Within it owe a debt to her abundant bounty.

Long live France and every genius

Who has benefited Egypt with wealth and learning.
