إِنْif تَكُونُواyou are حُمَاتَهَاher protectors وَبنِيهَاand her sons
إِنْ تَكُونُوا حُمَاتَهَا وَبنِيهَا
مَاwhat لِتِلْكَis with those الذِّئَابِthe wolves تَعتَسُّprowl فِيهَاwithin her
مَا لِتِلْكَ الذِّئَابِ تَعتَسُّ فِيهَا
If you are her protectors and her sons,
why do those wolves prowl within her?
أَفَترْضَوْنَwill you then consent أَنْthat تَهُونَshe be humbled عَتِيداًin time to come
أَفَترْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَهُونَ عَتِيداً
بَعدَafter ذَاكَthat الإِبَاءِproud defiance فِيin مَاضِيهاher past
بَعدَ ذَاكَ الإِبَاءِ فِي مَاضِيها
Will you then consent to her humiliation in days to come,
after that proud defiance in her past?
تِلْكَthose أَوْطَانُكُمْyour homelands تُبلعُare swallowed up عَلَيْكُمْat your expense
تِلْكَ أَوْطَانُكُمْ تُبلعُ عَلَيْكُمْ
صَفْقَةًa bargain بَخْسَةًpaltry فَمَنْso who مُشْتَرِيهاtheir buyer
صَفْقَةً بَخْسَةً فَمَنْ مُشْتَرِيها
Those are your homelands, being swallowed up at your expense,
in a paltry bargain—who, then, is their buyer?
